Frontier installed the ONT (Alcatel I-211M-L) outside the house (inside a weather sealed plastic box), it gets direct sun light for almost 8 hours (if not more) every single day, the other option is inside the garage (where the ONT AC adapter is), but it is usually hotter than outside. Would it be better to install the ONT inside the house where there is Air Conditioning (AC)? I can't imagine what temperatures there are inside the ONT itself when outside is 95F+ almost all day. What are the specs regarding outside temperature for the Alcatel I-211M-L? Any advice or link to the ONT specs will be appreciated, thanks
NOTE: I am in Sarasota, FL

115Mbps tier installed - info and help
The connection is installed, but I do need a bit of help. I currently use Eero's as my router and mesh. I'd like to put the modem in bridge mode if possible. Does anyone know if I can? Once I can get it all setup correctly I can post some screen shots.

[Phone] Pricing for stand alone phone
My Mom is moving into a senior living complex in CT. Her only option for a home phone is Frontier. No fiber in Essex, CT. I am trying to find pricing for stand alone coper phone service. I can find it bundled with DSL. The bundle price is reasonable and the DSL would be better than the wifi in her complex. Just trying to get a rough estimate of pricing. She has Comcast phone currently.

Paper Bill
Just a heads up from another Frontier arbitrary action. I received an email notifying me that Frontier had switched me to paperless billing without my consent. I had to sign into my account and change it back. Let's see if it worked as this notification came on my billing date.
(I receive a paper bill so I can easily review it for accuracy and as a record of charges. In general I don't like killing trees but in Frontier's case, it's absolutely necessary.)

[FIOS] Slight venting session - Account was closed, but not by me?
Gents,
Hope you are all well.
apologies for the lengthy email and I appreciate your indulgence.
I'm in the CTF (los angeles) group. Had service with verizon prior to the frontier buyout.
my last service was 500/500. off contract. was paying 85 dollars with a 5 dollar "loyal discount" that was ending in june/july.
just a week or so ago I was able to login and see my account per usual but did not see the bill had generated yet so I thought to check later.
went to login using email and password and there is NO account associated with my login!? :hmm:
im at the office so I don't have any old paperwork to look through to find my acct number, so i called frontier. they could not find my info from my phone number but were able to see my address info after I gave it to them. they then told me the service was "disconnected" in July. I STILL even to this day have internet service.
so I had to be setup as a new customer (SSN ran, the whole 9 yards) which means a truck roll ($85) because the tech has to go and "reconnect" me back at the CO :D (mind you I'm still connected and I told her this) and then come and verify levels (even though im still connected).
if there is a silver lining, since I was "disconnected" back in July, I qualify for new customer pricing. I ended up going with the gig service because it was 14 dollars cheaper (i would have been paying 89 dollars on 500/500 since that 5 dollar "loyalty credit" was expiring) and, well, mostly for braggin' rights...
So, other than the truck roll, its kinda no harm no foul since im getting new customer pricing on the gig service (without having to officially disconnect for 30 days), but has this type of nonsense ever happened to anyone? it seems coincidental that right as the loyalty credit expired, my account was cancelled.
EDIT: so i called again because i thought i found my old account number --well it wasn't it -- but the rep was able to look at my acct and saw that it was in good standing with a 0 balance at the time, so she surmised that this was disconnected in error. she mentioned some "updates" had happened and my account didnt get "updated".
what she did do was remove the truck roll so I dont have to pay the 85 dollars! so not bad in the end but im just baffled as to what happend..

Can I replace my router with my own and still have MOCA?
I was thinking about replacing my Verizon/Frontier router with my own. I've read that basically when you do this, it now connects through Ethernet, not Coax. With that, I'm a little confused as to how or if my network would still work as desired.
Currently, I'm running COAX into one three bedrooms, one has the Fios quantum router (G1100), which I'm only using for DHCP, its wireless is shut off, since I connected it to a secondary router which has a USB 3.0 port for attached storage. Mind you, I also have FiOS TV, to which is obviously connected through MOCA. In all three bedrooms, the connections are split, one to TV and one to either my G1100 or two Actiontec Moca Bridges.
Basically, I've been hearing about these MOCA 2.5 adapters. I would love nothing more than to get rid of my Actiontec equipment and use something better. So far, I'm seeing three MoCA 2.5 adapters which look promising: Actiontec, Tripplite and GoCoax. I don't know which one is better, but they all seem like they're plug in and play.
Am I able to ditch the Verizon/Frontier router for my own and add three Moca 2.5 adapters to my network, while maintaining the necessary connectivity for FiOS TV? Is there a guide on how to do this?

[FIOS] spotty connection and speed
We are frontier 500/500 customer and have had great service until a month ago when we started having spotty internet. network has been unstable and disconnects repeatedly requiring router reboots throughout the day and the speed is very unstable with streaming going very pixelated and constantly buffering episodically.
I called CS and they sent a replacement router and that didn't help. I then tried just using my own router and that also didn't help. When checking speedtest.com im getting like 75 up and 250 down during a good period. Repeated calls to CS about this issue have basically been unhelpful.
At this point, considering going to spectrum and paying more for a bit more stable connection. Any help would be appreciated.

Upgraded to 500/500
Yesterday my bandwidth was increased from 50/50 to 500/500Mbps. They sent out a technician who was supposed to make the change. However the technician had no clue why he was sent to my house - he left without doing anything. My connection had already been upgraded by then (remote provisioning, I suppose). Is there any possibility to get Frontier to waive the ~ $80 fee?

SFP Availability?
I currently have an Indoor ONT (Same as seen here: https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32639300-10-Gbps-XGS-PON) that feeds directly via ethernet into my current consumer-grade router.
That being said, I am moving soon (same city Torrance California, but to a home not an apartment, so I fear I may have an outdoor ONT which might be different? But none the less will need a fiber run to the home so it will be a seemingly "new install") and was planning to upgrade my network. I will be purchasing and installing a Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro router which has 2x SFP ports.
Are there any ONT's that have SFP out? or possibilities for me to have the tech give me just the fiber terminated so I can process it through the UDM-Pro and not deal with an ONT? or is there a certain handshake that needs to be done via ONT?

Burying fiber
This come Monday they are telling me that work will begin with them burying fiber, i'm as excited as hell!!! But i wonder how all that works now...
Will they bring it to the house or to the pedestal out at the road and reuse the copper from the pedestal to the house. How does all this work now, and what new world will i be entering?

[CT] NVG448BQ won't connect to node
So when I came home from work this afternoon, I was greeted by two red lights indicating that there was no DSL connection. Checked the modem settings and there's nothing coming in. Seems to be a physical layer issue since it's not even receiving an IP address or configuring DNS. This literally happened out of nowhere. It was working this morning. Talked to a rep and said there's no reported outage and no service was done in the area. My sneaking suspicion is that it's an issue with the copper somewhere between the node and the splitter in front of my condo. But does anyone else have other ideas?

Upgraded from 500 to 1000 but still seeing 500
I remember when I upgraded from 100 to 500 I was still seeing the 100 speeds and I did something at the router or ONT to get it working at 500. The tech just left my house and I wasn’t there as my wife was home. I just did a few remote speed tests and its saying 500. So my question...What did I do last time!? I cannot remember!
Thanks!

[FIOS] Connectivity issues
Does any one in the following ZIP have issues ? 76244 and 76248 ?
It appears that a hand full of customers (FIOS) are in a weird status: getting some download, but no upload, or barely 0.01 Mbps.
3 days since this issue, and it appears that is a configuration problem on Frontier end. Called the tech support and I was asked if I have Spectrum in my area (!!)...when I replied yes, I was told by the guy that it may be faster to switch to them, rather than wait for the issue to be fixed ( given the relative small number of customers impacted by this issue ).
Is there any way I can escalate this matter ? or ... is it pointless ?
Thanks....
