I recently had to replace the Arris 443B. I use it in transparent bridging. I have all rules on my router set correctly as prior to the new Arris I was able to access the Arris via a psuedo port without any issues. Now I receive the following (see attachment). The only change is that the Arris has the latest firmware. Anyone ran into this and resolved the issue?

Frontier 300/300 Fios to 20 Mbps dedicated Ethernet access
We currently have 300/300 Frontier FIOS at work. When it works, i don't have any complaints about it. We use out internet for cloud connection to our POS, VOIP phones, credit cards, Fax, email, internet .... you name it, we run it via the internet connection.
The problem happens when there is an outage, and we get next day repair appointments (used to be a lot worse). If this was at home, it would suck, but it wouldn't be so bad. But at work it pretty much keeps us from getting the work done, and it costs us money.
My boss was told about a 20 Mbps dedicated Ethernet access service provided by Frontier. Per the sales guy, because it is dedicated and not shared, it will be plenty for what we use i for. It does come with a promise of 4 hour repair window.
In the past i've looked at our router to see how much bandwidth we are using, and seems to have topped out at 5Mbps. (i'm not sure how accurate that is).
Has anyone have experience with the Frontier dedicated Ethernet access. Would the 20 Mbps dedicated really be enough for us. We have the option to upgrade to 50 Mbps, anything higher and it becomes cost prohibitive.
Thank you, stay safe!

[FIOS] Adding or replacing a router to FiOS connection
I just got Frontier FiOS internet. The gateway device provided by Frontier is an Arris NVG448B.
I'd like to improve the wi-fi coverage. I haven't decided if I should just get a better wi-fi router, a range extender or 2, or a mesh setup.
If I go with a better router or a mesh network, the question I have is how to connect to the Internet.
I have a fiber drop to an ONT and then Ethernet to the Arris. I've talked to 2 Frontier techs and both were adamant that I need to keep the Arris for the connection to the ONT and connect whatever I want to it.
According to the configuration page of the Arris, the connection to the ONT is "DHCP w/802.1x." My understanding is that 802.1x is a security standard using a RADIUS server -- but I don't see anything in the Arris configuration utility that looks like a place to set up a certificate or userid/password that would be used to authenticate to a RADIUS server.
Is there any information out there about connecting a non-ISP-supplied gateway to a Frontier ONT?
There doesn't seem any way to put the Arris into bridge mode (but I did find: »www.reddit.com/r/techsup ··· nvg443b/ and that seems that it might work with my NVG448B).
If I don't do that quasi-bridge arrangement, and instead keep the NAT and DHCP functionality of the Arris as is, I think things will work if I connect one of the LAN ports (rather than the WAN port) of the new router to the Arris. And, of course, turn off DCHP in the new router and turn off the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios in the Arris.

Vantage Fiber Connection Drops Daily Around Same Time
I have Frontier Vantage fiber internet in CT and the connection drops almost every day around 3pm (sometimes ~2:50, sometimes ~3:15, sometimes in between). Whenever it drops, there is a series of log entries on the modem (Arris NVG443B), which I've pasted below. I have tried another modem with similar (and worse additional) issues and I had the ONT replaced as well. To the extent it's relevant, I have my own router plugged into the modem and all of my devices connected to it. I left a device connected directly to the modem for several days and confirmed that it also lost connection, so believe that means my router isn't part of the issue. Also to the extent it's relevant, I had these same issues when I was using Frontier's default DNS instead of 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4.
Any ideas?

Frontier TV Not being Offered
I saw another posted mention this and then get criticized and called a heretic, but I just wanted to chime in and say that I'm in the Tampa market as well and they are not offering TV service. I actually have Frontier (TV + Internet) now and it's still working fine, but called in to see about new customer promotions and found out. They are offering AT&T TV or DirectTV in its place. The girl did mention it's somewhat related to COVID19 stuff - which is kinda odd seeing as the installer needs to setup a router/internet or phone anyway.

[CT] 25mbps fastest service available. Seriously?
So I just signed a lease for an apartment where there's a choice between Frontier and Xfinity. I've found Frontier to be extremely reliable where I currently live, but living with my mom, I didn't exactly have a say in the speed I was getting. I would like to have 50mbps or greater. So I emailed the leasing agent giving her the OK to forward my contact info over to their local rep, who responded within a few hours of having received it. He gave me a rather sketchy-looking customer info sheet with two options; 25mbps internet + voice for ~$50/mo, or 25mbps internet only for ~$40/mo. That is the exact same speed that I have right now! I went to Frontier's website to check and see if the rep was just bluffing, but he wasn't. 25 is the highest option. Then I asked the rep if that was the fastest speed available, to which he said yes, and blamed it on my distance from the node. I checked where the node is when I drove by the complex the other day; its maybe a 1/4 mile from the building and looks like a recent install. And they really can't offer me anything higher than 25? Needless to say, I ended up getting Xfinity.
How is it that even with Frontier investing heavily on new fibre nodes, that's the highest speed they could give me?

Frontier DHCP - Renew IP every 15 mins doesn't always happen - All
Both myself and other neighbors are seeing temporarily Internet loss, and it appears to be when the Frontier's DHCP issued IP renews each 15 mins. It doesn't happen at each renewal, but it's clearly happening. I've seen it take up to 10 mins before it will finally issue an IP again, so I'm thinking whatever provides their DHCP is having issues in my area (Southern California).
I'm surprised they have such a short renewal window in their issued IP, as it's not as if these change that often. Wondering if others are seeing something similar. The IP issued is for 30 mins, which means the first renewal must be occurring at the half-way mark.
I'm tested with the Frontier Router (G1100) as well as my Nighthawk.

Considering Return to Frontier DSL
I had Frontier 3/1 DSL up to three years ago, when I switched to another provider that uses a dish on my roof pointing at a nearby tower. Not sure what that is called technically, but I get 12/3 pretty consistently. Frontier sent me a postcard the other day that said I was now able to get 25mb service at my house, so I figured I'd give them a call and see what was up.
Having dealt with them before, I'm very aware of all their shenanigans and how different reps give different answers to the same question. No different here. The first rep I talked to said I could get 35mb service. I had a few more follow up questions I thought of, so called again and got a rep who promised 25/25 service. Guaranteed. If the tech couldn't get that on install, we could walk away. In the past, our promised 3/1 was more like 1/0.35. Worst case scenario, the rep claims there is no fee to cancel after a month or so. I'd have to read the contract before taking that as gospel.
So at this point I'm interested, but very wary. I have 4 pair coming into my house. I'm curious if there are any tips that I should know to suggest or ask for if I do decide to install and get a tech out there. Bonded internet? I also saw a different thread where Frontier had a couple different routers, and one was better than the other. So I can ask for that. I have a mesh network, so any router will be bridged. Anything else? I know a lot of this is on the lines and physical distance from their facility.

[FIOS] Moving to Westchase, FL
Good evening!
We recently purchased a house in Westchase FL. Currently they have Frontier at the home but it is an older person that lives there so they don't know the service. Are their any issues with congestion or packet loss with Fontier's Fiber service? I was a legacy DSL customer in Wisconsin and went through many painful calls with Frontier till I met some great people here who helped me out.
Spectrum is the other option and they do have their stream app which is a nice bonus for $15. I can't find what Frontier charges after the 12 month promo of 39 + 10 + 4 per month.
Any input or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Slow upload speeds every night, router speed test shows no issue
This has been happening for over a year. Every night, starting around 7PM the upload speed starts crawling, usually between 1MB-5MB. I have a 50/50 plan. I have tested this via ethernet connected directly to the box. All devices on the network show the same upload speed problem. I have even bypassed the coax running through my house and directly connected the router to the ONT eliminating an issue with a bad coax cable.
I have had 3 techs out, and all of them say it's not them. They run a speed test while they're here on their tablet, which is during the day obviously, showing no issues. The last tech left me with the NVG468MQ router which has a built-in speed test. This test ALWAYS shows no issues, always shows around 56/51 speeds regardless of time.
I don't know what's left for me to do. Perhaps showing a tech a video of a side-by-side speed test with my eth connected speed test versus the router speed test.
Anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

[DSL] Higher DSL provisioning?
So we got our Frontier service upgraded a month ago from 6Mbps to bonded 18Mbps ADSL2+. It runs about 21Mbps down and 1.6Mbps up, and the line stats are good.
But, are the line stats good enough for Frontier to provision us higher, and would they? The website shows the 18meg plan as max for our address, and, checking some other addresses in town closer to the CO, it would appear that others are limited at 25meg.

Remote Upgrade Asus router firmware now no internet
So this on me. I’m not at my condo where I have the FiOS install. I logged in to asus app early this morning just to check on the network there. Everything was fine and I saw there was a firmware update. Last time I did an update I had to unplug the ONT for a few minutes to the asus back online. I wasn’t even thinking about that and I started the upgrade. I got a message the upgrade finished and then everything went offline! I’m not on property so I cannot unplug the ONT. I went to the frontier site and tried to run the troubleshooter thinking maybe that reboots the ONT. I just got an error saying it cannot be run. So my question is...before I sit on hold with Frontier...are they able to remote reset the ONT or should I just wait until I am able to physically be there?
TIA!

[FIOS] Connectivity issues
Does any one in the following ZIP have issues ? 76244 and 76248 ?
It appears that a hand full of customers (FIOS) are in a weird status: getting some download, but no upload, or barely 0.01 Mbps.
3 days since this issue, and it appears that is a configuration problem on Frontier end. Called the tech support and I was asked if I have Spectrum in my area (!!)...when I replied yes, I was told by the guy that it may be faster to switch to them, rather than wait for the issue to be fixed ( given the relative small number of customers impacted by this issue ).
Is there any way I can escalate this matter ? or ... is it pointless ?
Thanks....

Burying fiber
This come Monday they are telling me that work will begin with them burying fiber, i'm as excited as hell!!! But i wonder how all that works now...
Will they bring it to the house or to the pedestal out at the road and reuse the copper from the pedestal to the house. How does all this work now, and what new world will i be entering?

Replacing ONT question
Hi - I am currently a Frontier Fios customer in the SoCal area. I recently closed on a house and will be moving my service there.
Little back note, this entire area (including where I will be moving) was previously Verizon Fios before Frontier bought it ~10years ago, maybe more? Anyways, the home I'm moving to has an indoor ONT from the looks of it. Little box on the edge of a floor molding that requires power to the wall, and has a Verizon fios logo on it.
My current setup is in an apartment so I have a very new-ish ONT that is a strictly indoor ONT made for MDU's I believe.
My question here is that when I request to move service, what are the odds that I can have the fiber run to a different area of the house AND have the ONT replaced? I want to ensure I can run everything into a networking closet I will be creating, along with the Patch Panel close by so that I can run Cat6 throughout the home.
Will the Tech just look and see that there is an existing ONT and not really want to change the location? or is it a pretty common ask to move the ONT/Fiber run into the home?
-- I will be transferring a gigabit service, so hoping they're more likely to help since its not a 50/50 or 150/150 package.

Ordered frontier 115Mbps
We have optimum and have had nothing but issues lately. Tech after tech and they refuse to fix the outside issues. So I decided to give frontier a try. Called, and ordered their 115Mbps package. We have an install set for this Tuesday.
Anyone on this plan how do you like it? What is the upload? Thanks for any tips or info. It’s been many years since I had dsl.

XPON with 10Gbps port ONT
I have seen a few post of these in Southlake, TX but here is another. This one comes from a property in N Ft Worth. This Fox version has no video wavelength ability , has a separate 10Gbps Ethernet handoff, and runs to a x32 splitter hub on its way to the OLT. There also seems to be about three extra internal plant router hops prior to exiting Frontier vs other Gpon installs in the same area. No service speeds in this area above 1 gig yet. Tech says this is all he installs now for single residence now that the firmware issues has been fixed. But he still burned through two onts while trying to activate... so good luck if you get one of these.

More Frontier lunacy
I've been using the automatic BillPay service for several years. About 2 weeks ago there was a fraudulent transaction on my credit card, so the card got cancelled and I got a new one. When I got it I updated my credit card info for all the companies that do auto-pay, including Frontier.
Today I got an email from Frontier saying that my current payment, due tomorrow, failed to complete. I checked my payment history and it said that my old/cancelled card # was still being used. I went to the Manage AutoPay Methods page, but there was no way to enter credit card info. I verified on my Account page that my new credit card data was in fact correct. So I called Customer Service.
The person there told me that Frontier's billing is done by a 3rd party and it takes them 2 weeks or so to update credit card info. So if I wanted to ensure my account was not charged a late fee I should pay the current bill by phone. And for this "service" there was a $3.50 charge. I told the person "No wonder Frontier is bankrupt" but went through the process of paying by phone and getting billed $3.50 extra.
