I have a Frontier Fios (formerly Verizon fios router) Actiontec MI42WR Rev 1 wireless router I bought when I had their service, that I would like to use with the new Spectrum E31U2V1 modem I have. Is there a way to change the settings to do so. Ive already tried connecting the Spectrum modem to the Frontier router through the WAN port but the Frontier router won't connect to the internet.

It's a miracle! I got a twitter message from Frontier saying that HBOMax is now available!
I tried it and it worked. I even linked it with my trial HBOMAX login and my previously saved movies are still there!

Discounts/Pricing on Frontier Business Fiber
I am helping a non-profit with their fiber connection, and Frontier business fiber is actually available for buildout, which is great.
Before I go down contracting with Frontier, I wanted to see if anyone was wise to Frontier pricing, i.e. if they ever discount their ‘normal’ rates, and if it is worth pushing to see if there are discounts for non-profits.
I appreciate it.

Help! Can't get new UDM to find internet through Frontier ONT
Picked up a new Ubiquiti Dream Machine to replace a crappy Netgear I was using. Powered on the UDM and used the unifi app to setup. The app found the new UDM. It began to look for the internet and wanted me to connect it to the ONT. It couldnt find internet the first time because it's set by default to DHCP. So I changed the setup for PPPoE and gave it my Frontier logon credentials. It cannot establish an internet connection. No matter what way I power things on, plug things in, reset things, it will not find the internet. What am I missing?

[Internet] Remove router fee?
I can deal with $4 surcharge and even $85 activation fee, but I have no need for their router or the $10/m fee.
Also what taxes are even included?
I thought router fees and internet taxes are illegal now.
Can the router bee be removed during the online order?

Vantage Fiber Connection Drops Daily Around Same Time
I have Frontier Vantage fiber internet in CT and the connection drops almost every day around 3pm (sometimes ~2:50, sometimes ~3:15, sometimes in between). Whenever it drops, there is a series of log entries on the modem (Arris NVG443B), which I've pasted below. I have tried another modem with similar (and worse additional) issues and I had the ONT replaced as well. To the extent it's relevant, I have my own router plugged into the modem and all of my devices connected to it. I left a device connected directly to the modem for several days and confirmed that it also lost connection, so believe that means my router isn't part of the issue. Also to the extent it's relevant, I had these same issues when I was using Frontier's default DNS instead of 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4.
Any ideas?

Dropped Frontier TV Today MOCA and Router Question
Hello, upon learning that Frontier dropped Fox Regional networks I called and cancelled my TV service, will remain on FIOS internet only and be converting to youtube TV. Two questions.
1. I use their MOCA over Ethernet in several of my rooms, will this continue to work even without TV package and Internet Service only?
2. They mentioned I would be receiving a new router as part of this, because I was going to Internet only. Is this necessary and do I want to use it or keep using the FIOS verizon router I had from a few years ago that is pretty nice actually and has MOCA and other things working as expected (hence I don't want to screw with a change if I don't have to). If I do have to put in a new router, any details on what make and model I should be expecting to receive from them?
Thanks for the help everyone.

Agreement after 12 month cost
Made the switch to Spectrum after having Fios for 15 years, new $39.99 + $10.00 a month 500/500 plan got my attention, so I create a chat just wanting to know what the rate would be after 12 months, never saw a company this indifferent in it's response for a new sub:
Interesting in purchasing the 500/500 plan, I know after a year the price will increase, how can I find an existing rate card for your existing customers so I can know what to expect after the 12 months?
After the promotional period, pricing will depend on the promotions and specials that we offer at that time. Since there is not a contract, there is not a regular rate.
I don't have future pricing nor current NON promotional pricing.
Thank You, I guess what I am asking then is what is the rate today for an existing customer out of promotion who has 500/500 only? Need some type of figure or I will just stay with Spectrum.
I can't give you that number. Sorry.
THanks for giving us a look.

CT Outtage - So that was fun.
Well, it seems to be over, for now (here) anyways.
Does anybody know any more about that CT outtage? It seemed like there might have been similar issues in CA as well.
.01 Mbps all night, around evening, until sometime today.

Setting up your own Router with NVG468MQ
I've been working on this for a few weeks. I have FIOS triple play, and I have to keep the NVG468MQ active. Been playing around with the settings, and finally got this working perfectly.
So my setup is like this
NVG468MQ -> FIOS Boxes
-> Asus Router
First thing you have to do is disable WIFI.
[att=1]
Then you need to setup the Firewall DMZ, Frontier gives WAN IP's via DHCP so we need to share that IP with the Asus Router. You want to check Enable DMZ.
Select passthrumode as DHCPS-Fixed. Then to ensure the Asus Router gets the IP, select manual entry and put the MAC Address of the Asus Router's WAN Interface.
[att=2]
Restart the NVG468MQ.
Now if you did everything right your WAN IP will be shared with your Asus Router.

[Internet] Buffering in Florida
I’m not sure where to ask this question so I’ll give it a shot. My sister asked me why YouTube was buffering on her IPAD. She has done a speed test which showed 48 Mb/s download close to her 50 Mb/s tier. They had Verizon so I think she probably has FIOS.I don’t have anything.else to go on so I told her she should ask her neighbors about their performance. She is just outside Sarasota. Is this about what she should expect? Thanks

Frontier FiOS pricing idea
As Frontier hopes to get through bankruptcy, I've wondered if they could gain market share by simplifying their fiber internet plans down to two choices, similar to Google Fiber.
Cable can't touch the upload speed...and Frontier's advertising could highlight that as an unmatched advantage (upload speeds 40 times faster than cable).
It really costs Frontier nothing to offer higher speeds. People will most likely use the same amount of data whether it's coming at 300 or at 1000. It would be a good idea to gain as much market share as possible by giving the speed away. Geeks like most of us would go for the gigabit, as well as anyone that thinks they need gigabit for more than a few people in the house (hint, they most likely don't).
Really hoping Frontier makes it through or another company buys their fiber assets. The competition has been good.

Connecticut Vantage Fiber Build Out Logic
I live in Shelton, CT. I can see that Frontier is installing fiber to the home in some areas of the city. Is there anyone that works for Frontier that is involved in the installation of fiber that can explain to me the logic behind the process of deciding where they are installing it? Like for example they installed it down streets to the left and the right of me. But they left a gap between the two installs where I live. Why leave gaps? The areas that they installed definitionally had VDSL2 just like we do so this process makes no sense to me. To me what would make more sense is to do an entire area all together. Can anyone tell me what Frontier is thinking when installing fiber to the home?

[ONT] changing from Frontier to Spectrum
Anyone recently changed from Frontier Fios to Spectrum? If so, once you cancel your Frontier Services does this doable to the ONT box? I have googled to no avail, and want to make sure before I install, want to make sure I will still have connectivity from the street.
Thanks in advance

Using MOCA with Frontier in a previous Spectrum House
As always thanks in advance from the great community here. So our new place was previously Spectrum. I was going to run Cat6 but the layout of this house just makes it darn near impossible. So I grabbed some Moca 2.5 adapters (had used 2.0 in a previous home).
Outside my house there is a ‘junction box’ with a spectrum coax from the street coming in to a splitter inside it (I think it’s a splitter....more on that in a moment!). So I unplugged that coax from the street and put in my coax connected to the Moca 2.5 connected to the LAN port on my router.
I go inside the house and every coax port I test gets internet. Most are even running at almost gigabit speeds. The speed is great but the connection is constantly dropping. Even if just for a few seconds. My kids are playing online games and getting kicked constantly. So I start reading troubleshooting for MOCA and it says there may be an amplifier somewhere in the attic messing things up. Now I have not been up in the attic yet but the previously mentioned splitter says amplifier on it! So I’m including a pic. Is this the culprit? Is there something I need to replace this with? Any tips are greatly appreciated.
Thanks again!

Router for Verizon FIOS from Frontier?
My 10 year old Actiontec router died last week. Frontier replaced it with a Verizon FIOS-G1100. Much slower than the Actiontec.
