Has anyone had an issue with setting up a new account and Frontier not honoring the terms clearly spelled out on their website? I am in a FiOS area here in FL and wanted to set up internet only account. One of the pricing options is 200/200 for 39.99 a month for 24 months. There is a "2" next to that and under the terms at the bottom corresponding for #2 in the middle of the long paragraph it says "Router fee waived for 12 months." Well they are not honoring this offer. I called 3 different times. I called the FL customer service number, the number on the website to order and also their executive relations dept. They all told me that they are no longer waiving the router fee for the first 12 months, but nobody could tell me why it is advertised that way on their website. The person at executive relations implied that the same paragraph says "Frontier reserves the right to withdraw this offer at any time" so they don't have to honor it. But I think it's clearly false advertising. Filed my 3rd complaint now with the FL attorney general's office about Frontier.

[FIOS] mangled recordings
Just wondering if it was me or happened to others... We have a FIOS Quantum DVR. Last night I had two shows that were scheduled to be recorded. NCIS at 7pm on CBS and FBI at 8pm on CBS. These are recorded weekly. Nothing new was setup for them.
Last night the NCIS recording went for 2 hours.. it was scheduled for 1 hour. The recording recorded both the NCIS and FBI episode. The FBI episode started recording at 8pm but lasted about 3 seconds. So... I have 2 normal-ish looking recordings... NCIS and FBI but the actual data in the recordings is messed up.
I have had this happen in the past.. but not often..
Is it just me or has this happened to others?

[DSL] Internet Wifi Router charge - $10.00
Found a new charge on my bill today, Internet Wifi Router 10.00
I use my own router, and have never been charged a router fee in all my years with Frontier or Verizon. Is this new, or just new to me?

latency/issues and ONT stuck at 100M on ethernet?
how much latency do you see added when using the arris gateway strictly in bridges mode?
The run between the ONT and my router would be about 5 ft.
Ive tried smart switches, cat6, cat5e, cat7 and smart switched I can not get the ethernet port of the ONT to sync up faster than 100MBit Full Duplex. This is the latest ONT literally just brand new install

Frontier tells rural Ohio residents: no landline for you
After a storm blew over their lines, a southeastern Ohio town has not gotten Frontier landline service restored.
(Don't even bother to ask what kind of broadband service they got before it.)

[DSL] Connection drops multiple times a day.
I've been having a problem with my Frontier DSL for the last few months. It will drop connection for about 30s 8-10 times a day. The Link light will stay solid green through this but the Globe light will go out or be red when there is no connection. After about 30s everything comes back as normal. I've worked w/ Frontier support multiple times and they've tried a new modem (Arris NVG443B on firmware 9.2.4h1d28), going from DHCP to a PPPoe connection, all with no avail. This is getting very frustrating. Does anybody have any ideas on things to try? I've attached my DSL stats and provide any additional logs if that would help. Thanks in advance!!

DirectvNOW / Frontier Locals?
I just signed up for DirectvNOW yesterday. I live in 62948 Southern Illinois, but DirectvNOW is giving me St louis locals instead of Marion IL,Cape Girardeau,Paducah locals. Support at DirectvNOW says it's because of the IP that Frontier Internet is giving to me. Any fix for this?

Hard Inquiry Credit Check
Has anyone gotten Frontier service without giving them your SSN or receiving a hard inquiry credit check?
This is the main reason I won’t signup. My credit score average is 835, by the way. Part of the reason it’s so high is because I don’t allow BS credit pulls like Frontier requires.

[DSL] My internet disconnects at midnight once a week
My internet disconnects for hours once a week at exactly midnight. My neighbor who also has frontier says his does the same thing. It's very annoying because I work at night and the service is usually down till the morning. I live in a small town in Mississippi. Does anyone else have the same problem?

cisco + EHWIC-VA-VDSL-A configuration & discussion
Anyone wanting a working config for the cisco modem cards that works with frontier service (atleast on ADSL) Its your lucky day! remember to set the password encryption, after you know its online and working. (set the 0 before your password to 7) Just to be safe :)
Edit: Oh yea, also its a huge pain in the butt to redo a config if you mess something up and have to reset to default, so a word to the wise, speaking from experience...
I'm somewhat new to cisco hardware, but if anyone has questions about getting their hardware online, I can try to give advice.

Only Qualify for 3mbps just 3,300 feet from the CO???????
I can walk from my house to the CO and Frontier is saying I can only get 3mbps and that I must rent their stupid modem even though I have plenty of modems of my own from ADSL to ADSL2+ and even a bonded VDSL modem that also supports all the older legacy modes.

[DSL] Issues with DSL
Hello, big time lurker of these forums and I'm wandering about my 'attainable rate (kbps). Yesterday the number was 8000 down and today the number is showing 5360 down. 1164 upstream remained the same both days. Does this mean Frontier capped me at 1344 and I could get 5360 or even 8k downstream?
How is line attenuation/ SN margin? I live about a mile from CO.

[Internet] Forced FiOS Gateway Rental
I am inquiring if anyone using their own router with Frontier FiOS is still forced to pay 10.00 a month for a non-existent FiOS Gateway rental?
I started service at a new location September 2017 and opted to use my own router since I had a CAT5 install. I was never provided a FiOS Gateway during install.
I was being charged 5.00 a month (10.00 with 5.00 discount) and after no less than 7 calls and 3 months that charge was removed.
The charge came back a year later this month, I call and am told you can no longer opt out of using the FiOS gateway and you must pay the 10.00 a month if you wish to use your own router and there is nothing that can be done.
I have since filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General and will be filing a complaint with the FTC due to having to pay for something that was not provided. I have also posted in the direct forum with no response yet.
So is everyone using their own router being charged this 10.00 a month FiOS Gateway rental fee even if no FiOS Gateway was provided at install?

Funky small grid of lines on Plastation Vue channels
I dont know that this has anything to do with Frontier but I have a television with a Firestick in it that receives its WIFI signal from Google Mesh which branches off my Frontier router. I have excellent signal strength from WIFI on that Firestick but still some anomalies. This is the only television that is connected via WIFI and the only one with this crazy overlay on the screen that does not go away. Also the audio sync gets off so the sound doesnt match the mouth.
What are those 5 lines?
Why such performance issues as audio sync getting off?
I upgraded to the Google Mesh and upgraded to the latest Firestick and the performance is worst ever.

[FIOS] Buh Bye
So my contract expired and got a new bill. I was at $164 a month for TV/Phone/Internet and 1 DVR. new out of contract monthly bill jumped to $279 a month. called frontier to see about getting it lowered, they basically told me pound sand. so I called Spectrum.. 400MBps down/ 2X the TV channels I was getting, Phone AND mobile service for $132.. so ya buh bye frontier.
I'm not willing to sign a 2 year commitment contract as I'm selling my house later this year. As they consider me existing customer they have no incentives or promotions. I've been pac-bell, verizon-frontier since the 80's... no more

[FIOS] DST Quirk
It's happened every time the time changes. My manual recording was off by an hour this morning. I have reported this to Frontier in the past but nothing has been done about the problem. Regular recordings adjusted to DST yesterday.
A reboot of the set-top-box seems to fix the problem but I won't know for sure until Tuesday morning. This has been happening since Verizon days but has carried over into Frontier service.

How long to be gone before coming back as a new subscriber?
Well....I switched from Frontier to Cox on 04 Feb 2019 because it looked like I could get comparable service for about $45/mo. less.
I was wrong - my current Cox bill is just about the same as my last Frontier bill - which itself had increased by about $45/mo over the past 5 months. (This was why I decided to switch in the first place.)
So now I have to stay with Cox for 2 years, or switch back and pay an ETF. Woe is me!
I am well aware that Frontier offers much better pricing for "new" customers than they do for existing ones. But I'm wondering how long do I have to be gone before I can be considered a "new" customer? From what I've read in older posts here there doesn't seem to be a consistent answer to that question - but those were old posts that may no longer be valid.

[FIOS] Random question about ping times on FIOS
How come FIOS ping times seem higher than other Fiber providers like AT&T Fiber and Google Fiber?
From what I've seen in the forums those users get 1-2ms on speed test to local servers. Is AT&T and Google just superior in network and hardware?
I get 5-6ms to local Los Angeles servers that are about ~50 miles away. I know that's still good, but 1-2ms is pretty darn sexy.
