Upload faster than download?
We recently had our 15/5 Fios connection upgraded to 50/50. Now I find my downloads run around 49 Mb/s and my uploads typically run about 60 Mb/s. Why is that? Is this "wrong"? or should my downloads always be faster than uploads?

Certain Tampa Area Zip Codes Being Charged Wrong (Higher) Sales Tax

I am in one of the affected zip codes. In Nov & Dec 2018, my total taxes were $20.03. In Jan & Feb 2019, the total taxes jumped to $22.75.
If you live in Pasco County Florida and have a zip code that is shared with Hillsborough County Florida, check your bill.

Changing speeds
Can I change from 50/50 to 200/200 without incurring and setup charges. Just pay the additional $10 per month? Is there a window on new service where you can make these changes. I see nothing that addresses this in their TOS.

[DSL] Netgear modem wireless issues
Hello, A family member ordered frontier and got everything connected. The Netgear modem says it's connected at 7xxx down and 864 up.
When I connect my Android phone and try using the service, it just seems very slow. For example, when I try using the speed test app, it seems to take forever to find a server and even things such as looking a Facebook or Twitter seem to go every slow.
Another family member also has Frontier and their modem connects at 17xx down and had the same problem.
I ended up connecting a separate router (at the other family members, 17xx connection), which seemed to fix the wireless issue.
My question is this seem to be an issue with this particular modem/router? While 7 Mbps is slow compared to Fios or Cable, or should be still decent enough for surfing.

Updating or replacing Actiontec MI424WR Rev I
I have had an Actiontec MI424WR Rev I router for some time now. Through the change from Verizon to Frontier. As fact the router has a Verizon logo.
The router is connected to the internet via coax. I began a decade ago with Verizon phone, TV and internet and now I only have internet. The router changed once years ago but I've had the Rev I for a long time now.
I just built a beast of a PC running Plex and my sharing friends still have problems connecting reliably. I have tweaked everything I can think of except the router. Plex outlines some steps to take to improve connectivity/reliability and the first step involves UPnP and after accessing the router settings I discover that this doesnt even have that feature.
For WIFI I have Google WIFI. Google WIFI is connected to the router as is a 6 way passive splitter and my PC and thats it. Pretty basic stuff.
What to do?

My Westell 7550 modem/router wont download torrents
I can download torrents with an old Westell 6100 modem but I want wireless too. So, I hooked up my Westell 7550 modem/router and can surf the web but if I try to download torrent file utorrent never connects to clients. I tried other BitTorrent too
It has to be the modem that's blocking torrents (not isp) but I can't figure out where the blockage is... please help.

[Vantage] Frontier CT Refuses to Install Service
I posted a thread about a month and a half ago about trying to get Frontier to install service in a new apartment. Long story short, Frontier hasn't even wired the building and after Twitter, the direct forum here, and PURA, they refuse to install service at all. The pairs at trying street support 70mbps VDSL, and they have CAT-5 to the units, so it's just a matter of connecting the pole to the utility rooms. If they can't do this building, they can install anywhere. Incredible. I'm starting to believe the conspiracy theorists on here who say that management is running Frontier into the ground so that they can declare bankruptcy.

[FIOS] Fiber: Approximate time from deployment to availability?
Long story short; late last year Frontier started stringing my area with fiber. I was wondering if there's a rough average time period between when the fiber is put up, and when service starts being available. My area is pretty rural, if that matters.

Anyone else been scammed by Frontier on equipment returns?
I cancelled TV service due to it being out most of the time and received a box and pre-printed UPS label to ship the equipment back in. I did so, and now a month later they billed me $300 and said they never received the items. They then asked me for the tracking number when I called in, which I asked why the hell they don't already have it since they paid for the shipping label. They did have the tracking number on the cardboard box they sent me hilariously enough, but not for the labels used to return the items.
The support rep claims I can go to my UPS store I dropped the package off using and get the tracking number magically somehow which seems like BS.
As insult to injury I also cancelled my Internet Service and need to return a modem but am about 99% sure no matter what happens they will claim I lost it.
Anyone else gone through this type of disaster with Frontier?

FTTH in Danbury, CT area?
I've been asked to post here about a short meeting with a Frontier tech who was hanging some cable in front of my house. There were two trucks and they were unspooling and hanging some moderately large cable going down the street.
When I asked him what they were putting in he said we would have "Fiber To The Home" soon! I thought that sounded pretty nice! I'm on Comcast now but fiber would be a big draw for me.
Here is a pic of the loop on the pole outside my house. The gray box is the Comcast cable, the loop below that is the new Frontier cable.

Frontier outages for ADSL bonding
So in the past month or so I’ve been having constant outages . Some worse than others . The support always changes my pppoe which works for about half a day and then it goes back to messing up. Today it’s been on working for normal uses but while I’m gaming I disconnect because my router cuts out for around 5-10 seconds disconnecting me from the server. When it goes out for this time the blue globe on the router turns off and then comes back blue. I just want to be able to use my internet again

[DSL] 3 Techs, 3 New Modems, Dns errors are driving me crazy! Please Help
Hello All, Today the 3rd Tech in a week paid me a Sat visit to try and resolve this one problem among many others over the last few months. Okay so I can be surfing the web checking reddit and so on, then I will get a message (dns probe finished no internet) and sometimes other Dns error messages as well. Now keep in mind all devices lose Internet access when this happens even though the modem has a blue light and says all is well, Even going into the gateway on the modem shows its up and running. Now sometimes rebooting the modem resolves this for a couple hours. My question is sense the modem has been replaced 3 times already and they replaced the card at the DSLAM (but not the repeater loop extender) does anyone have any ideas because this is beginning to turn into a serious issue for me.

Alexa?
I think I read that Alexa supports FIOS. Is that true and if so... what type of connection do you have to have for this to work?
I have FIOS Internet and TV but my FIOS router is behind my Internet router. My FIOS internet comes into my Internet router and my FIOS TV stuff gets routed to my FIOS Router.

I like running my own router ( Linx box ) but I would like to get Alexa enable for my FIOS... I have moved my Dad in with us for a bit and he's having problems with the remote... he might be helped with voice commands.

Is a G1100 a 'current' router for FIOS?
I think I need to upgrade my ActionTek Router... I know I can probably call Frontier but I have not had the best experience with Frontier... what I have now mostly works and I don't want it to break... anyway... I see a few local G1100 routers.. some are listed as:
Fios Gateway AC1750 Wi-Fi (G1100) so maybe the AC1750 is the same as the G1100?
Anyway.. if I end up with one of those.. will that be a current router? What's a current revision of those I should look for. I know that the actionek ones went through a lot of upgrades ( giabit for instance ) and kept the same router # but changes version ( i, j, k, etc )

[FIOS] Buh Bye
So my contract expired and got a new bill. I was at $164 a month for TV/Phone/Internet and 1 DVR. new out of contract monthly bill jumped to $279 a month. called frontier to see about getting it lowered, they basically told me pound sand. so I called Spectrum.. 400MBps down/ 2X the TV channels I was getting, Phone AND mobile service for $132.. so ya buh bye frontier.
I'm not willing to sign a 2 year commitment contract as I'm selling my house later this year. As they consider me existing customer they have no incentives or promotions. I've been pac-bell, verizon-frontier since the 80's... no more

Quantum FIOS and NVG468MQ question - TV without Coax?
I know ( I think.. I read / assume ) that the Quantum FIOS extra ( slave? Client? not sure what to call them ) can do wireless to the main box and get TV without COAX.... what about the main box? Can it do TV without a coax connection? I'd love to do FIOS to a few quantum STBs without using COAX... I have ethernet ( and / or wi-fi ) to a few rooms in my house but don't have convinent coax drops where I'd want the TV to be. Can I just go ethernet / wi-fi for all my TV ( VOD etc ) needs?

How can a company be this bad?
So my 1 year package ended and I called to try and get a price adjustment. I told the lady, the internet speed is really important, don't care about TV. So she drops me down to prime saves me about $50 a month, okay I am fine with that. Three days later my phone service is gone. We never talked about phone. I call tech support.. oh he says.. the sales person deleted your phone service. So he then says let me get you to CS rep to get it added back. Then he comes back on and says, I couldn't find a single csrep that I would trust to put your service back. So I am sending you to retention. Ask them to cancel the order.
Of course retention says they can't. So they add my phone service back, adding another $30 to my order. So now I am only saving $20. But they deleted my voicemail, I lost all my settings. *sigh*
Today I get my bill and it is for the full amount. No reductions. nothing. I don't get the channels anymore, but I am paying the full amount.
I use to think comcast was bad. Frontier makes them look amazing.

[FIOS] Slow download speeds in South Everett / Silver Lake WA area tonight.
Hello,
I recently upgraded to from 100/100 to 200/200 FIOS in the Everett Washington area.
However, since the upgrade, my download speeds actually dropped!
My speed tests are around 10-60mbps download and 200 upload.
Talking to a co-worker who lives close by (also Frontier FIOS) he is also experiencing very slow download speeds.
40-60mbps download and close to 200 upload.
Are others having problems tonight?

too many devices
Hi.
I have a friend in Tampa that has Frontier internet and their equipment. He's got problems with ROKU and Sling.
Tech support says he has too many devices on his connection (he thinks less than 10).
I told him I have 26 at home on my Cox router.
And that tech support is wrong.
Anyone's thoughts?
