This is more of a curiosity question. I've been running the Frontier provided modem/router in bridge mode since day one with my Netgear R7000. My Frontier credentials are in the R7000. Last week I updated the firmware on the R7000, and when it rebooted I was no longer connected to the internet. After scratching my head for awhile, I just reset the R7000 to defaults to start over. To my surprise the R7000 connected without providing my Frontier login. It ran like that for 7 days, and wouldn't connect if I did use my creds. So I left it without the creds, and then 7 days later the connection dropped again. So I entered my login into the R7000, and it connected. So I'm really confused on what happened here. Why did I not need to provide my creds for a week, and now it needs them?
I have a bonded line, and yesterday when I added back my login I also noticed the one of the lines is down. I wonder if that has something to do with it. Maybe there's a configuration mistake somewhere that doesn't require login when both lines are up?
Can anyone offer any insight?
Thanks,
