I have a rental property in the Tampa area that I need service for about 4-6 weeks for alarm/cctv monitoring. Last time I had to do this the area was still Verizon. I had a difficult time explaining that I have two ONTs on the property and that one is already active and provisioned Ethernet. Neither residential or business sales seem to understand that there is no Frontier/Verizon supplied router currently used. The previous tenant hasn't been able to cancel service either as they don't do pro-rated refunds.
How can I switch this over having to drive 100 miles to wave to the installer? Residential wants $84.99 to install (but they repeated $75 multiple times) and business wants $150 just to send the installer out. Month to month is $40 for residential and $85 for business, but I can't tell if that includes the modem rental they say is required. I ended up just hanging up on them when they demanded payment just to schedule service. I'm guessing this means it isn't post-paid anymore?
This was very simple last time and the provisioning was done remotely. I had my equipment in place and the service went active overnight. Are there alternatives that I can use until I get another tenant in place?
