Back when we moved into our new house we used to have a Siemens Gigaset SE567 modem router and I had tested my internet speeds. The results from a wireless connection through a few walls, to an iPod, while a Xbox was being used, I was capable of getting 75ms +/- 5ms pings. I was unintelligent and asked for a faster a router, unfortunately I didn't exactly know what faster meant at that time so due to the new modem router my pings increased significantly. It was replaced a few times and now I have an Actiontec FV-2200 which still doesn't get down to 75ms pings wirelessly. I repurchased a Gigaset and have now compared the two and have found the Gigaset is faster even with a G-strength radio, but not by much, but neither get down to 75ms.
My question now is, is the wiring in my house bad even though it was rewired professionally right after we moved in or is Frontier screwing us? Is there any way to test for it? We've had somebody test our in house wires before and have been told nothing is wrong but does that mean that it isn't causing our problems?
