So Comcast has finally cut off their nose to spite their face and decided to roll out data caps to my area (Bothell, WA). That's something that I just won't tolerate so I'm interested to know what the current climate is for Frontier FIOS in the Bothell/Kirkland/Mill Creek, WA area?
I actually signed up for Frontier FIOS about 20 months ago when we moved in to this area, however there were massive congestion issues at the time - severe latency, massive packet loss and generally slower speeds than what I was paying for. This happened especially in the evening. When it was working it was great, but the congestion issues happened daily and made most things unusable. I had at least two techs come out to try and fix the problems, but they both conceded that the area was over capacity and that it wouldn't be fixed until Frontier added additional capacity. They didn't have a time frame for when that might happen and I cancelled the service after less than a month.
So I was forced to switch back to Comcast, which I hate, but does actually work. I would like nothing more than to give Comcast the finger and switch to Frontier, but I do need the service to actually work. So I'm curious as to whether things have improved in this area? Would anyone in the area comment on whether things have improved and are now usable?
Thanks!
