Has anyone else in the Dallas area noticed that 466 has switched to be Quest which I believe is a subchannel of channel 8 ABC? Unfortunately, the guide is screwed up and all scheduled DVR recordings for 508 (ABC HD) are being redirected to 466 (Quest). What a stupid error. Of course, we're at season's end for many shows. You'd better check your recordings from yesterday to see if you're affected. We're going to have to try to watch them on On Demand.

MoCa Help with Arris NVG468MQ
Hey everyone,
I have Frontier 150/150 FiOS.
There is CAT 5 cable from the ONT outside the house into my home office.
That CAT 5 goes into the red BROADBAND port on the back of the Arris NVG468MQ router.
I have 2 Kiwee MoCa 2.0 bonded adapters
I have coaxial cable ports on the wall of my office, and on the walls of every room in the house – 2 ports for each wall outlet.
Are you able to just plug coaxial cable from the wall into the back of the Arris router? The manual for the Kiwee adapter says that I'm supposed to plug ethernet cable from the router to an adapter, and then coaxial from the adapter to the wall. However, I think that's with the assumption that my router doesn't have MoCa 2.0 built in, which this router does. Right?
I'm totally ignorant with networking. Any confirmation, advice, tips would be great.
Right now, the admin on the router says the the MoCa 2.0 is DOWN.
Thanks!
Scot

Switch from Triple Play to Internet Only
I plan on switching from my triple play bundle to internet only in the next month or so. Is there anything I should watch out for when I make the switch? It may be a stupid question, but I thought I remember reading about people having issues because the account number is tied to the phone number from Frontier. But, it may have been because they were porting their number out beforehand or something. Anyway...just curious if I should watch out for anything as I've also had issues every time I've renewed a bundle or made a change in the past.

Arris NVG443B constantly dropping internet
Every single day at least 5 times a day my router drops internet. A reset fixes it for a short amount of time before it goes out again. I had Frontier come and check it out and upgrade my firmware but it hasn’t helped. If there’s are any numbers you’d like me to post to help you, please let me know.

Looks like there is a major outage for Frontier Internet in Connecticut. Connecticut Facebook Groups being blown up with complaints that the Internet is down. Seems to be state wide.

[FIOS] Frontier Arris NVG448BQ
This gateway has a USB port (I assume for file sharing), but I can't seem to access my external storage (a hard drive) from it. It doesn't look like there are any file sharing settings when I log into the gateway. I'm currently using firmware 9.2.0h5d23.
Thanks.

Credit Check For Porting?
Why is there a credit check for porting a number to Frontier Communications? I did not have any issues with my move to Spectrum when Frontier's Promo ran its course and the loyalty discount came to an end?

D2200D Wireless Router - Remote Logging and Custom Firewall Rules?
1.) What's the purpose of the "Remote Logging" found in the D2200D admin interface in the "Security Log Settings?" I'd like to find a way to log everything that happens on the router without it being lost due to anything that either Frontier or anything else might be responsible for. (I've had some weird situations come up where I'd sporadically lose connectivity and wouldn't be able to access the admin interface only to reset the router and find that the firewall log lost everything back to January 1st entries, making me worry that it might be getting manually-erased by an attacker.)
2.) Would anyone have a good set of firewall rules I could use for a custom firewall rules starting point? My primary activities boil down to surfing the net and occasionally remoting into my web host via WinSCP. I stream music in VLC mostly from 181FM and I sometimes check for Windows updates with the system clock (I think) doing an update every so often... That's about it. I really want to lock this router down tight, so are there any guides anywhere for applying custom firewall configurations to the D2200D? I think I can probably figure it out with a little time and effort but I thought I'd ask in case anything already exists that could save me some time and hair loss.
Thanks in advance.

Frontier Fios in Sarasota Florida Ipv6
I'm in the sarasota area and frontier Fios doesn't support ipv6. Should I just turn ipv6 off on my netgear r7000 router or leave it on and let it transmit 6to4 tunnel???

[DSL] Questions About New Modem
Hey everyone,
It's been a while since my last post, but I finally had to get a new modem.
My Speedstream 5200 seemingly died 3 days ago, but the jury is still out on whether it actually died or not.
I asked the technician if it had finally died (after getting a competent CSR through Tech Support who said that it wouldn't sync no matter what was done). He just said, "It's just an old modem." I had no DSL light for 3 days, previously.
Have they finally made it impossible to use old modems like the one I had?
I was given a Netgear D2200D-1FRNAS to replace it.
My first impression was: How UGLY! I hate the flat design. The SpeedStream 5200 had an angled, front-facing design so the LED lights were visible no matter which way you looked at it. I can barely see the DSL and Internet light on the Netgear (and why is the Internet light blue? That seems so random).
I decided to cycle it on and off earlier (just to see how fast it would reboot). It's so SLOW compared to the SpeedStream5200. My network icon didn't even show a connection until I opened my browser (Don't care for that either).
Anyway, I noticed that I can't access the modem page (192.168.254.254) without a username and password?
I was trying to get to it to see if I could reboot the modem from there without actually having to press the power button off/on—should the need arise to do so in the future).
How do I access the modem page on the Netgear D2200D? What username/password do I use?
Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks,
whenthepawn
P.S. I really miss the SpeedStream 5200 :-(

Fiber Map in Minnesota
Greetings-
I currently live in Apple Valley, MN. When I check my zip code it shows that gig speeds are available, but when I enter my address it only provides me with slow DSL speeds. Would someone know of the plan or have a map of where fiber is available in Minnesota?

[FIOS] Frontier random disconnects Southern California
Hello all,
New user to frontier communications fios service. Very glad to have some competition in my southern california area and have been impressed.
So far, the service has been very good, with faster speeds compared to my spectrum internet service.
The issue i do have are the random disconnects, happens through out the day.
My equipment is a frontier supplied ONT (hope that is right) and a third party router, a tp-link archer c8, dual band router.
Not sure if the line was provisioned for ethernet, does that makes a difference? and if yes, confirm with call to customer service?
lastest test results:

Weather Channel
New to Frontier; live on West Coast of Florida and really miss not having the Weather Channel (accuweather has nowhere near the coverage of storms as does the Weather Channel). I think out of all the providers I have used, and, of all the providers I have accessed cable in my Travels around the US, Frontier is the 1st provider I have watched that does not have the Weather Channel. Saw a petition online to send to Frontier to get the Weather Channel but it showed "Closed".

Can someone explain this error message in my router...
Everytime my power goes out in my house, my Frontier Router has a hard time starting back up and keeping a connection. In the logs there is this error:
Time Event-Type Log Level Details

Can someone explain this error? It is all over my system logs on the router.

Actiontec F2250
Our home DSL service went out today. I called Frontier Customer Support and they issued a new password for the Actiontec F2250 modem. Is that a common issue that is fixed with a new password? Also, is the Actiontec F2250 still being distributed? Should I be considering a newer modem?
