Since Frontier is my only source of uncapped internet in my area, I signed up with them and for the most part it has been good service compared to dial up or wisp. Today, my internet is now officially worse than dial up. Just to ping google.com takes 1.7 seconds. I contacted frontier by chat using my iPad (using 3g cell service) and was informed that due to heavy internet usage in my area, traffic is being routed to faster back haul connections in Michigan and Indiana. I am paying $50 a month for dial up now. I was also told that this configuration change will be completed by the end of July and I should see improvements in my connection speed. I cannot wait for my local power company to finish their Fiber To The Home Build out. Otherwise, I am going to have to go back to wireless and pay $80 a month for 15 GB.
