After 11 years w/ the Verizon/Frontier oligarchy I finally said 'cancel' today. Frontier, who I really had few disparaging experiences with (mind you I'm in SoCAL & the transition was horrific), but back to the point, they feel going after 'new customers' is more important than letting (highly) loyal ones coming to the end-of-our-contracts have access to the going competitive rates. Two yrs ago we dropped the phone, now I wanted to drop the TV, and take advantage of the new 200gig internet only. But low and behold, the loyalty card was worthless and they wanted to offer me not the newcomer rate of $50/mo, but the sucker price of $80/mo. since well, you know - they could! So after collectively giving VZ/FTR $21,250 over the years I'm leaving regrettably. I know, call this person and that, ask for retention, and so on. Yes, I worked it, and only got up two reps before he cut my patience cap off & wouldn't move my kindly request up the ladder. Someone at FTR needs to get their heads out of the sand and look around at how to respond to the new realities & treat your existing clients like the golden cash cow they are.
