I am inquiring if anyone using their own router with Frontier FiOS is still forced to pay 10.00 a month for a non-existent FiOS Gateway rental?
I started service at a new location September 2017 and opted to use my own router since I had a CAT5 install. I was never provided a FiOS Gateway during install.
I was being charged 5.00 a month (10.00 with 5.00 discount) and after no less than 7 calls and 3 months that charge was removed.
The charge came back a year later this month, I call and am told you can no longer opt out of using the FiOS gateway and you must pay the 10.00 a month if you wish to use your own router and there is nothing that can be done.
I have since filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General and will be filing a complaint with the FTC due to having to pay for something that was not provided. I have also posted in the direct forum with no response yet.
So is everyone using their own router being charged this 10.00 a month FiOS Gateway rental fee even if no FiOS Gateway was provided at install?
