I have been having some issues with Frontier in Elko, NV and after having a tech out four separate times, I am beginning to think that my current speed (25mbps down, 3mbps up) is too fast for the lines inside my house. We have replaced the jack, replaced the pairs, the signal is clear at the NID. At lower speeds, these errors arent present, but at higher speeds we get 1.8 MILLION HEC errors in an 8 hour period. 408 Errored seconds and 2000 superframe errors all on downstream.
Margins:
18.2 Downstream / 16.0 Upstream
Line Attenuation:
33 dB Downstream / 36 dB Upstream
It says our attainable rate is 40325kbps down and 10241kbps up.
Could noise on the old phone lines in my house cause issues at higher speeds? Could lowering my speed to, say, 12 down and 1.5 up help with these errors outside of rewiring my house?
Thanks.
