I'm exhausted of speaking to Frontier about this, so I'm reaching out here. For the past 4 days (possibly more before I realized) my internet has been abysmal every time I try to play games. I have 75/75 service, but it's currently 8:40 PM in Brandon, FL and several speed tests shows me averaging 15Mbps. Yes, I've run Frontier's speedtest and Speedtest.net's speed test.
This afternoon they dispatched a tech, who replaced my router and "rebuilt my account". I got home from work to find that the TV wasn't working, 45 minutes of wasted time later to find out that the video port had been disabled. But hey, at least I've got 75/75 again (85/90 tested). So I sit down to play some games and it's 15Mbps again.
I wouldn't mind it being 15Mbps, not what I'm paying for.... but whatever. The part that's got me so frustrated is that I can't play a game because the latency is out of control. Constantly spiking well above 300 ms. I've unplugged everything but my desktop, turned off wireless, opened the network monitor to confirm no additional traffic.
I can start a ping and it'll be under 10ms to most locations. Then I start a speedtest, youtube video, anything and immediately as soon as it hits around 15Mbps the pings sky-rocket. I just want to come home and play a video game before I go to bed. For $150 a month I don't think that's too much to ask for.
