So I am upgrading to 150/150 and need to run an Ethernet cable from the ONT. I did some remodeling recently and I have run Cat 6 through the house and it all terminates in a closet at a 16 port unmanaged switch. The router is not in that closet. It is in the middle of the house. I have a cat6 drop by the router and one of the LAN ports on the router is connected to the switch via that drop. The router is connected to the ONT via Coax and everything works great.
Now that I am switching to ethernet from the ONT I have a question. Can I run the ethernet to the switch and then connect the WAN port on the quantum router to the switch and get the same result as connecting the ethernet from the ONT directly to the WAN port on the router? With all the wiring I put in place that would be the easiest solution!
