Beginning this morning we are having problems receiving many channels. It is intermittent; some channels, such as Fox News (618) and Fox Business (617) seldom work. We are having problems with two TiVo boxes, so it seems unlikely it is a problem with the cable card itself.
We get an error from TiVo saying there is a cable card error 161-17 and we need to call our cable provider, which is Frontier. Frontier can't find anything wrong. So we call TiVo and he says the problem must be that the cable cards are bad. That seems unlikely since they both failed in the same way at the same time.
We are getting a run-around; Frontier says it is TiVo and TiVo says it is the cable card.
Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know how to determine whose fault it is?
In TiVo when I go to the cable card diagnostics I get a "Failed to load" for each diagnostic. I don't know if that is relevant.
