It appears that the Frontier VantageTV firmware(mediaroom 2.6) has been rolling out to a few customers in Connecticut this morning. I do not currently have it, but figured I would make this post in preparation of any posts. The main changes with the VantageTV firmware are *supposed* to be = - New VantageTV branding in the place of FrontierTV - Updated UI with a reddish coloring on the main menu - Netflix compatibility on your Frontier receiver. Accessed by going to On Demand or channel 800. - "Restart" which lets you watch a show from the beginning that is currently or has already aired. Not sure of the time limits, Bell sets it at 30 hours after it aired it seems. (EDIT: THIS IS CURRENTLY NOT ACTIVE AT THIS TIME ON THE NEW FIRMWARE) - "On Now Guide" which lets you see the programs that are currently airing, a bar displaying how much time is left, and a stream of the channel in the guide. I do not suggest this for older VIP1200, VIP1225, and VIP1216 model STBs due to limited resources. - "Recent Peak" lets you have a menu that drops down to let you quickly access the last 5 channels you have viewed. - EDIT: In addition, the bottom menu now displays pictures on a bar for upcoming programs that you can scroll through. - EDIT: There appears to now be the option of choosing 1080p in addition to 1080i. - EDIT: Guide filtering by channel category(I believe this is new, not sure) Please post if you receive this update and what model receiver you're using. Not sure on what's going to happen to the plan names, if they'll change to from ex. FrontierTV Prime to VantageTV Prime. There doesn't seem to be any information about that at the moment. EDIT: Yes, it seems that services will be re-branded into Frontier Vantage services. On a side note, the sub-channel "Antenna TV" is coming to Connecticut on April 22nd on channel 81 according to the message center. There aren't really any Frontier pictures/videos for this. The pictures in the user guide are blurry. Here are pictures from *Bell/Bell Aliant* that show the features for the first two pictures. Below them are the only Frontiers picture I could find that aren't bad quality. EDIT: See the post a few down for the Frontier video discussing the firmware. [att=1] [att=2] [att=4] [att=3]
